Assassin's Creed Unveils Unexpected AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a unexpected collaboration that breaks conventional forecasts, Ubisoft has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Uncovered
According to the formal release, "A strange meeting leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new quest, where rumors of banned ceremonies and terrifying transformations resonate through the shadows." The storyline features a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden group.
The adventure focuses on "bizarre tests and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Transformations
The trailer features the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a powerful sequence showing a character, presumably the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Extra Features
Players who successfully complete the quest will acquire an exclusive katana in addition to numerous items secreted throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Update
This release also brings the game's latest no-cost story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This lighthearted mission partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap signature skills: Naoe introduces a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
