Since the launch of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of heroes, and a exciting storyline featuring celestial beings, evil spirits, and dark forces expanding in power within the city.
Warning: Key plot points for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a dramatic pause and revealed the initial group of heroes who will separate from the primary party to undertake their independent quest, apart from the other two tables.
This warrior group consists of Teor Pridesire (played by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (the player), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
With a large ensemble, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unworkable.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the individual narratives before splitting into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
Per the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who enjoy a traditionally charged fight-heavy gameplay experience where non-violent answers are few and far between.
At first glance, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander might appear mismatched, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the warrior group.
Reasons to Leave
First, the team understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the story’s plot—used the foes for his personal gain, invading the secret base, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then settled his debts and escaped to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the city, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each member has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a nasty place.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his family’s wishes to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could assist the team enter places they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a life debt to The savior for his deliverance and will now go with him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
Finally, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making remaining behind dangerous:
- The agile adventurer and Kattigan are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed the influential house and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by the clan.
This means them little choice but to journey toward the northern region in pursuit of the antagonist.
What’s Next?
According to the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Strategists parties.
